Michael Laufer, M.D., has been an attending physician and assistant clinical professor at Stanford University for 23 years. Additionally, he serves as a managing director at MachLabs, a venture capital and medical device development partnership. Since 1993, he has started more than 16 medical device companies. Specifically he is the Founder of CoRepair, Inc., NTERO Surgical , and Broncus Technologies where he also served as Chairman. Some of his other previous appointments include founder of Asthmatx (Acquired by Boston Scientific), advisor at Baxano, and founder and board member of Hearten. Dr. Laufer received his M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship/residency at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and later his fellowship at SUMC Graduate Medical Education.
